Cassettes to CD FAQ

Q: Will you be returning my cassette with the CD that you create?
A:
Yes I will.  I always return all orginal materials unless requested otherwise.

Q: Where is Cassette-to-CD.com located?
A:
Our office is located just north of San Francisco in Santa Rosa, California. Click here fto contact us.

Q: I'm local, may I  drop off and pick up my originals?
A:
Sure,  just give me a call ( 707-539-2872) before coming so I'll be sure to be here when you arrive. I occasionally have to go out to pick up supplies and run errands.

Q: I don't really know if my tapes are longer than 80 minutes. What should I do in that case?
A:
If you are not sure, send me the order and I will make the adjustments here and invoice you when the job is completed.

Q: How long will it take to complete my order?
A:
Orders of 10 or less cassettes are generally completed in three to seven business days.

Q: What can you say about the quality of the CD that you produce?
A:
We only use the best state-of-the-art Audio equipment and professional quality software. This has created a high quality product for over 3,600 customers since January, 2001. You may also want to look over the customer's testimonials on this web site. We receive great customer feedback virtually every day. In fact, over 25% of our business is repeats and referrals.

Q: Will our cassettes be sent somewhere else to be processed?
A:
No, they will not leave LPtoCD / Audio-Restorations until the completed product is shipped back to you.

Q: Is this a sideline or full time business for you?
A:
This is not a sideline, or part-time job for me. I work at it fulltime, and then some.

Q: Is this Legal?
A:
Yes, it is. A fair use copy for your own use is legal if you or your organization is the owner of the cassette. However if you intend to sell the CD(s) that we produce to someone else, on eBay or somewhere else, that is not legal. We do not seek or accept any illegal requests. The cassette-to-CD transfers that we do are for your own personal use only.

Q: My cassette tape appears to be broken. Do you repair cassette tapes?
A:
Yest, I can repair broken cassette tapes or those that have dried out and come off the end of the take up reel. Click here for more info.

Q: How should I package these tapes to send to you?
A:
We recommend that you wrap them in bubble wrap and use a good quality shipping box. Also professional shipping stores do a great job of packing items like valuable cassettes.

Q: Do you have any recommendation as to how we ship them to you?
A:
Yes we do. We suggest you consider shipping the cassettes to us via any of the following: UPS, Fedex, DHL, US Postal Service Priority Mail.

Q: Is there an inexpensive way to send the cassettes to you?
A:
The least expensive way that we are aware of to ship to us is via the US Postal Services Media Mail. But you should be aware that sometimes these shipments can take one to two weeks to reach us.

Q: How do you ship the cassettes and CDs back to me?
A:
Most shipments are sent back to you via USPS Priority Mail.

Q: Do you offer " sound restoration" ?
A:
Yes, we do, but be aware that this can only reduce some background hiss and noise. It cannot remove background noise that is a part of the original material that was recorded. We use sophisticated software to do this.

Q: My cassette has a very low volume. Can you increase the volume some?
A:
Yes we can, but this may result in some increase in background noise or hiss.
